Fenton's op - 53, never had painfree sex (no kids) - any success stories or otherwise please?

I was meant to have a Fenton's procedure this week but got postponed last minute to next (along with womb ablation) and now I'm rethinking it. I've read it doesn't always heal perfectly, you can get scarring, granulation, pain and end up with different problems to the original one. Please could anyone with similar issues let me know if Fenton's worked for them?

I know there are alternative treatments like using dilators, and would welcome anyone's recommendations or alternatives? I just would like to be able to have a 'normal' relationship some time.
