DD has the squits

And has had them since Sunday. She's 5yo, no point taking her to the doctors as she's had this before and last time the dr said there was nothing he could do.

She is getting better - she is now making the toilet and only goes once or twice a day and only a small amount. But it is very liquid and bright yellow and smells foul. School sent her home on Tuesday as she'd been on the loo with non-stop squits for 30mins.

Is there any medicine I can give her? Am tempted to give her kaolin and mophine but the label says for age 12 and over. I am desperate to get her back to school. Tempted to send her tomorrow as it is such a small amount when she goes. But if teacher realises its still liquid poo then I dont think she would be impressed.

Please keep her off school. It is so anti social to pass this around to the other children.

I don't know of any medicine, but are you keeping her off all dairy as that makes the problem worse?

I will keep her off school. Maybe I will take her to see Charlotte's Web for a treat.

I didn't know about dairy - so thanks for that. Will ban dairy from tomorrow until better - fingers x'd she's back at school next week.

What has she been eating thus far ? Don't give her anything whatever the cause, that will only mask the symptoms not address the underlying problem. Keep her at home until it has run its course. What if she can't get to the loo in time

Today she had a crossiant, some chicken and a doughnut and an orange. Milk and a babybel cheese. She is off her food a bit.

She doesn't have any urgency when going to the loo.

The chicken would be fine but everything else she ate today is a bit iffy with a bad tummy. Would she eat toast and honey (no butter), pasta, boiled potatoes, that sort of thing?

I'd say that the fat content , citrus and dairy may not be helping. Can you stick to a plainish diet for a few days, ie BRAT Banana Rice Aplle (?) Toast, perhaps potatoes or pasta and plain chicken or fish and carrots

She'd eat pasta, will do some for her tomorrow. I think the toast without butter wouldn't go down, and she wouldn't eat honey.
