Is this a Stye? Pics in thread

My eyelid became swollen a few days ago. It's particularly bad in the morning and goes down slightly during the day but still obviously bigger than the other. It's extremely sore to touch or even to blink.

First chemist said it looked like an infection of the eyelid and gave me a lubricant (which hasn't helped and is awkward to administer)

Second pharmacist said it was a Stye and to use a hot compress. I'm more inclined to think it's this although there is no 'head' or anywhere where I can see puss can drain.

What do you think?

I'm on holiday just now so can't get to my GP

I'm no Dr, but looks like a stye to me. If you hot compress it at least 3 times a day it will burst and drain, but you must keep it clean once it has burst, or it may get infected.

It looks like a sty or cyst to me, I've had loads. I've had them treated at minor injuries before. I ended up with cellulitis on my face last time which left me feeling awful. Normally treated with chloramphenicol ointment and amoxicillin tablets. I've had a couple cysts excised before when they haven't responded to meds.

Looks like Blepharitis - an inflammation that affects the eyelids. It can be due to infection, but not always.
Have a look on the NHS website for symptoms and treatment. As with most eye conditions, it's best to get it checked by a doctor.
