Embarrassing problem

NC for this as very embarrassed.
Yesterday I was an enforced situation where I was not able to go to the loo, despite needing desperately.
Four hours later when I finally got into the same room as one I didn't make it

I'm now having real trouble holding my water - going every hour or so, which is far more than normal for me - and finding I'm desperate with even the slightest bladder pressure (ie I'm going from nothing to desperate in seconds)

Please tell me this is all psychological after yesterday and that it will get better!

It might just be due to a fear of having an accident again, or you might need a visit to your GP to exclude a urinary infection.
Maybe try to relax, have enough to drink, and see if it improves.

Definitely not a UTI. "The incident" was due to being stuck somewhere and unable to get away.

I would think its down to your traumatic experience and will sort itself out in a few days, but if not see your gp. Also Google irritable bladder. Get better soon.

You should have your urine tested for an infection.
Holding on is one way that infections can start - the urine gets stale and any bacteria that are in the bladder can multiply. Some drs suggest everyone empties their bladder at least every 2 hours to keep everything flushed out. Holding on for 4 hours when your bladder is full must have been awful for you. You might have over stretched your bladder which could have irritated the nerves, or it could be an infection. If it's over stretching, still keep drinking - concentrated urine will make it worse- and empty before you feel bursting.
Your symptoms could be an infection so until you can get to the drs, drink lots of water ( half a pint every hour) and flush everything out as much as you can.
