I have a massive fear of bleeding between my periods.

I check every half hour to an hour daily.
Since having my DD 20 Months ago I tend to spot at certain times in between periods.

Iv had GPs look at me, 12 months ago scans in my ovaries (all clear) 12 mi the ago a smear (all clear) and a gynecologists loom at me and say I look fine, its just a hormone imbalance.

I tend to spot in the middle of my cycle and then I have ovalatiom discharge and then I don't spot until I have my period.

This month tho, its 7 days before my period is due (I have 35day cycles) and I have the smallest ever streaks of pale pink blood in my discharge. Iv inky seen it because iv shine a bloody torch on it. It's happened twice in the last two days.

I'm so worried. Every time I ot to my GP she says 'Your smear is clear, The gyno said it was a hormonal imbalance....what do you want me to do?!...she gave me the pill about 5 months ago but I havbt taken it as I'm scared it will develop into cancer. I saw her again last week and ahe just said 'try taking the pill'.

I can't live with this fear anymore. I'm 27 and its literally taking over my thoughts. I check and I check and I check every day...some times I even have to were sudocream because of the repetitive wiping to check.

Why have I got light pink streaks when I wipe? 7 days before period is due ? I just want to go to sleep to stop the worry

So many typos there...but I'm typing fast as DP would go mad if he knew I am obsessed about this again .....hes had enough so I keep it to myself now.

you say you have to use sudocrem as you've hurt yourself wiping - that could cause some bleeding that looks like spotting. Any itching, abnormal smell etc? Discharge normal looking?

Has your GP suggested a referral to a psychiatrist? You know that realistically this is hormone imbalance, you know that it would make all sorts of sense to take the pill, but your brain is refusing to let you accept that.

I'm not sore atm. So I dont need sudocream. It's defo in my discharge...however there was hardly and discharge at all and it only had a faint faint streak in it.

Is it really it could only be a hormone imbalance? Iv had enough of worrying like this. My back hurts at the top from holding it stiff all the time. I'm so scared iv got cancer with minor symptoms. Me and DP havr only ever slept with each other so that's why he gets cross at me as well because he says the likely hood of me ha in the cervical cancer virus is very low so who have I slept with?! I tell him that even the one percent chance of me getting it is enough to make me feel like I could.

Iv had enough...I'm going to take the pill then at least if I do bleed on the pill I can maybe blame it on that.

In the time I have first written this post until now iv checked 3 times. 😞 Every time my heart race go's up and I'm shaking for what I might find on the tissue

If this were you would you really just accepted that you have a hormone imbalance and take the pill ?

Or would you feel that they have miss diagnosed you and put you down as 'anxious' when really there is something going wrong.

Actually this happened to me recently. Bleeding between periods and after sex. I have been diagnosed with a cervical ectropion. They would have seen this when doing your smear.

I'm no expert but it doesn't sound as if this is about your discharge- it sounds as if you're really scared that you're ill and that you've started feeling afraid since your DD was born- is it possible that you are feeling anxious about how she would be looked after if you were ill? Did you suffer from PND or anything similar? It sounds to me as though maybe trying to take some control of your thought patterns through CBT or meditation might be worth a try. I would consider seeing your health visitor or going back to your GP- sounds like anxiety and you've just hung it on this particular peg. Horrible to feel frightened all the time - and you are right to be looking for help. Take a deep breath. You'll be ok. FlowersFlowers

You've got to start accepting this is an emotional/ mental health issue you have, nothing to do with the actual symptoms.

You have had loads of checks and they are all clear.

I'd like to bet you aren't having a 35 day cycle, but a shorter cycle which takes time to start/ get going, so the bleeding a few days beforehand is really a period but it's just a bit slow at getting going.

You have nothing wrong with you except possibly slightly low levels of progesterone in the 2nd half of your cycle. When this happens, we get spotting. Your gynae ought to have explained this and reassured you. You don't have cancer, you don't have a n STI- calm down and stop wiping.

If it wasn't This it would be something else.

Thankyou... I feel so vulnerable like a child feeling like this...

That's exactly how I feel. When I see blood it hurts me so much that this could take me from my children.

The GP looked at me cervix last week and said she couldnt see anything. She told me to try the pill ( as she has told me on the last three visits) and she gave me a card with the number of 'Mind' on for me to phone. I don't need after sex. However if I'm going to be r really honest... I don't have sex because I'm terrified I will bleed! It drives DP mad and he gets upset about it but the whole time in sex I'm terrified and as soon as it's over I'm running to the bathroom and checking Sad

I'm amazed the dr hasn't dx you with health anxiety and go even you meds Tbh
Time to go back and tell the Dr how much you are struggling.
The good news is anti depressants have come a long way in recent years....they will help.
Good luck

You have health anxiety.
You need help, not judgment.
It's a self fulfilling prophecy sadly.
You get anxious, you don't sleep well, your appetite goes, you sleep worse, you get panic attacks, you feel ill.....
Go back to the Dr
And take the pill
You have had all the checks. All are normal. There is nothing more the Dr can do from a clinical need pov.
Tbh it could be late onset post natal depression....I had this. ADs sorted me out in no time.

You don't need pills. Pills are not a fix- ADs etc. Pills that alter your mind just dampen down your feelings- they don't really change the underlying issues.
You need a talking therapy if anything, and more information from a gynae as to what is going on in your body. Do you understand the 'menstrual cycle' and how hormones work? It looks as if in the 2nd half of your cycle you are low in progesterone. This is the hormone that kicks in after ovulation. If it dips, then the lining starts to come away. Yours obviously dips a bit at around 28 days which would be an average cycle, then rises again before falling at day 35. It's not serious- loads of women have this kind of thing. It will eventually settle down and if not, it's not a big deal. You aren't ILL.

Tbh. Since I was 18/19 (I'm now 27) I have been ABSOLUTELY CONVINCED I have had : A brain tumour , a tumour in my knee, a heart defect , breast cancer (twice) tumour in my elbow, eye tumours, mouth cancer , ovarian cancer amongst others which I now can't remember.

Since having my DD tho I have focused on cervical cancer because I have been struggling with the bleeding.

Like I said thankyou for your replys. My back isnt hurting as much now

I have had bleeding mid cycle and spotting for 5 days before my period. All fine, blips in hormones. You need help for your health anxiety. I'm sorry you are going through this.

Polly what you have written makes alot of sence about my cycles. Iv always though I need a good chat with a gynecologists as I'm totally confused with it all. Also does months I start to bleed around day 33 but it's not much and doesn't kick in while day 35 so I tend to class my cycle as not to start in day 35.

What do people think about the fact that me and DP are the only people that we have ever slept with?

DP says that he looked into the virus for cervical cancer and my chances of having the virus are low as we habe o ky ever slept with each other. This is why I can't talk to him about it because I get so upset and convinced that he says the only explanation to why I truly believe it is because iv slept with other people. Which I absolutely have not!!! I struggle to sleep with him in case I bleed after it, never mind someone else

I have had exactly what you have had with all the same checks and examinations. I also was v v stressed about it. I was given the pill too. I took it. No more bleeding between periods. Basically taking the pill and the pill stopping it, proves it is hormonal. Just take it for 6 months.

Contraceptive pill. I can't remember the name. I have the mirena coil and almost zero bleeding which is ace. I have had your problem on and off since late 20s. Got worse after a miscarriage at 36. I'm 44 now. It did happen again after 3 years on coil. Had all the exams and all is fine and it has stopped. I get worried too. Just take the pill.
