Hypnagogic hallucinations

The other night I had what I assume were these auditory hallucinations. Just as I was dropping off to sleep I heard someone say my name quite loudly next to my ear which woke me up and again after a few minutes it sounded like someone blowing a recorder near me.
Then last night I could hear breathing in my room and then a deep male voice said something like ' you can't go to sleep like this ' I woke up really scared and was too worried to go back to sleep but eventually dropped off.
I Googled it and apparently it's quite common! Either that or my house is haunted lol
Has anyone else experienced this? I'm pleased it's not anything to worry about but at the same time I'm worried it might happen again and it was quite frightening.

I was dropping off the other night when I heard the sound of breaking glass, sounded very close, just the other side of the room, but couldn't find anything it could have been. That was strange but I guess along the same lines.

Scarier was another time recently when I had only been asleep for 30/40mins and I woke up and looked round the room and was convinced we'd been burgled. Everything looked wrong. I screamed, jumped out of bed and ran round the house checking the doors and looking to see what was missing. It took ages to realise that the fact that nothing was gone might mean we hadn't actually been burgled. My heart was pounding like crazy.

Yes I've had these before, just as you describe except mine have had added physical aspects - mattress rocking or a weight pinning me down. The first time I thought I was either making contact with some kind of spirit world (I am not at all woo!) or I was schizophrenic.

I found that I can now fight them if I try really really hard to wake myself up by trying hard to fight against that paralysis. Haven't happened in a while though - think stress and tiredness combined.
