shortness of breath

I've been suffering with shortness of breath for a while now (a few months). Think it started when I had a cold but hasn't gone. I feel like I can't get enough air in my lungs, so take big deep breaths which makes me feel bloated and sometimes I get a sharp pain in my neck/collar bone area. I'm wondering if it's become a habit rather than anything actually wrong. I don't actually feel puffed out when I exercise or whatever, just this horrible feeling of not getting enough air :(

Why don't you go & visit your GP?

Honestly, she/he will be able to give you a far better answer than anyone here can.

You need to see your GP. There could be lots of reasons for this feeling. You could be taking slightly shallow breaths, so every so often your body forces a deep breath to compensate (that's not a problem, it's just your body doing it's job) or you may be slightly anaemic, which means you have less haemoglobin available to carry the oxygen around your body. Or you could have a slight chest infection. Or asthma. Or any other condition Grin Honestly, there are lots of reasons why you may feel short of breath. Most are minor and easily treatable.
