Ringing in ears after car crash

A car crashed into the side of ours at about 50mph 2 weeks ago and while the whiplash pain and swelling has started going down, there is still a horrible ringing in my ears which is there whenever it is quiet around me and also a twitch in my upper eyelid.

The ringing is driving me mad, and whenever I focus on listening to it I start to feel really sick. I've been to the doctors but they didn't check ears as they said it was probably the impact and to wait a while. Is this ever going to go away? Anyone else had it?

Anyone else has this?

I have it, but not from an accident.

It might settle down and go away, it might fade to less. I would try to get appointment with hearing specialist to check for damage.

In the meantime try masking the sound - tv or radio on during the day, or music on headphones. It will distract you from it - there's nothing worse than sitting there listening to it. At night headphones. Again, try listening to natural sounds - sea, river, forest sounds, anything that is on a similar frequency will make it harder to hear. Or relaxing music, or guided meditations to help you sleep.

It is awful I know. I'm in a flare at the moment. I hope you get some relief soon.
