Joint pain

Just wondering if anyone has any tips for easing joint pain?
I have no idea what it is, but today is especially bad - everywhere hurts, at the moment my lower back and legs in particular. Can be arms, shoulders, feet etc too.
Even carrying my handbag has been too much the last few days.
Painkillers don't seem to have a great affect and I feel so tired with it.
My legs hurt so much but I feel the need to keep them moving - it is slowly driving me insane.

Have you tried hot and cold compresses? Alternating them too?

Have you had the joint pain before?
You sure you've not done anything that might have aggravated your joints?

If it continues you should go to the Gp and have a chat about possible causes.

Thanks Hula - I have had it on and off for a while - just particularly bad tonight.

Now wondering if it's possibly connected to a kidney stone I had late last year - pain is certainly based around my lower back.

Dosed up now on painkillers and feeing less like I want to chop myself up, so hoping it was just a bad hour or so.

Might make a Docs appt anyways and just mention it all. Can't hurt.

Anti-Inflamatories are the best pain relief for joint pain usually. Plus heat or cold, whichever helps is fine. You could use an anti-inflammatory gel like voltarel too. Hope you get it sorted Flowers

Are you on Statins? - if so that well could be the cause everyone I know who took them ended up with terrible muscle problems before refusing to take any more

Mountain - thank you. Hot water bottle helped last night and I eventually got some sleep.

Old - no not on any medication. Which possibly makes it more annoying.

Feeling like I've been hit by a bus today and very tired!
Going to give the docs a call today and see if there's anything they can suggest. And get an appt.

Thank you all for your lovely suggestions and sympathy
