My 35 year old OH gave up smoking just over 2 years ago. He smoked for about 20 years.
Health wise he seems in perfect shape. Normal BMI eats healthily, exercises.
However, he has a morning cough which is driving me absolutely insane. It's completely dry and non-productive but only starts when he gets out of bed for about an hour. He has had this for at least 2 years, maybe longer. But in the last year it had become louder and more noticeable. He is comvinced his morning coffee and cereal triggers it off, but I know for a fact it will occur on the mornings he doesn't have these things.
What are the possible causes? He doesn't cough at any other time of the day and for this reason he doesn't think it warrants a trip to the doctor.
Lung cancer is prevalent in the men in my family (asbestos and smoking) and I've become increasingly concerned it's something serious.
How do you make a man visit the doctor when he refuses????!!!
