52 small changes - week 18

I hope it's ok for me to do this week's challenge.

Week 18 - Work Up a Sweat

You probably could have guessed that this challenge would be included as one of the 52 Small Changes. Regular aerobic exercise is one of the best ways to keep in shape, feel your best, and stay youthful for years to come. It improves stamina and energy levels during the day, while helping you sleep more soundly at night.

Get in regular aerobic exercise by raising your heart rate to 60-80 percent of your maximum heart rate for thirty minutes, three days a week.

Thank you, NightWanderer. This is one I need to do, I am good at the moderate exercise/toning stuff, but I really need to up my aerobic exercise!

Thank you for starting the new thread.
I will struggle with this, I hate exercise! I also have a knee injury that limits what I can do but I do try to get out for a walk every day. I know I should do more though.

Thanks NightWanderer

Yup, hate exercise here too!

Will have a go.

Hope Socks is OK.

Can I join this?
I did an hour tap dancing yesterday (only my 6th week ever!) and today my legs are aching as usual! Smile
I hope I have time tomorrow to study and practice timestep.

I wonder what the previous 17 weeks changes were.

Hi Zing!
It would be lovely if you joined us.

There is a thread for each week and they are all in General Health, if you look back through the last few OPs, there is one where OddSocks lists the previous ones.

Tap dancing eh? I'm impressed Smile

Thanks Night, was wondering if yous were hiding somewhere that I couldn't see Grin

Welcome Zing

I would normally be all over this one but will sadly have to bow out this week. Back has been agony past couple of days and OTC painkillers aren't working so there's no way I could do my usual running. Luckily dm has a TENS machine, tried it for the first time tonight and it has been fabulous

Great that you've found something that's so helpful Sirona, hope it continues to work.

I bought some running shoes a month ago with the intention of starting couch to 5km but I still haven't started and it's pouring rain today. I'll try and get started, I have a lot of tummy fat that needs shifting.

Backache is awful Sirona, I hope you feel better soon.

Welcome aboard Zing!!

The challenges are from a book called 52 Small Changes by Brett Blumenthal.

Hope your backache gets better soon Sirona.

I have done a "fire flow" in yoga yesterday, which definitely worked up a sweat. Tomorrow I'm off with dd2's class to the local Sports Centre for gymnastics and tennis, last week it was aerobic exercise.

I still haven't gone running yet. Realistically the best time to do it is the afternoon but I'm shy and I don't want the neighbors watching me Blush

It's not raining today so will give it a try.
