Any ultrasound operators around to answer a question?

I had a gallbladder scan 2 days ago. The lady doing the ultrasound scanned my abdomen and right side as I would expect.

Then she seemed to spend quite a long time scanning my left hand side.

Is this usual? I wouldn't have thought you could see the gallbladder from that side? Or was she checking my liver or something else?

At the end she confirmed gallstones and despite being told I'd have to wait a while to hear from the doctor, I've been asked to see the doctor tomorrow (which has me slightly worried tbh)

Just wondered if that all sounded normal-ish for gallstones?

Apologies - sonographer was the word I was searching for in the title

Yes they have to scan all the solid upper abdominal organs so that includes the left kidney and spleen. They also have to take quite specific pictures do they may have had problems getting one right, like found a bit of your kidney tricky due to bowel gas or a deep position.

Thanks. Didn't realise she would need to see anything apart from my gallbladder. That's put my mind at rest - was worried she'd seen something ominous on my liver or something.
