Reducing motion sickness when pregnant

Hi there

I have suffered from motion sickness since I was a child. Recently been managing it with travel sickness tablets, travel sickness bands, watching my food intake and things like having a window seat.

I am 26 weeks pregnant and due to fly 4 times this week. I will still do most of the above apart from taking tablets. I asked my Dr if there is anything I can take. She said there was one thing but it is also a heavy sedative which she wouldn't recommend if travelling alone which I am doing. I asked about whether it would be OK to take ginger supplements but she said she couldn't comment on anything that wasn't a 'medicine'.

Does anyone have any other thoughts? If I just need to suck it up I am prepared to do so!

Thanks

Would you consider acupuncture? It can be useful in pregnancy nausea and is also used for chemo patients with some success. The wrist bands seem to have some fans but are not as useful.

Many women are prescribed anti emetics in pregnancy, though. Whilst not quite the same as a travel sickness pill it still may help and is considered very safe.

Happy travels. Sounds exhausting. Smile
