Mirena Coil

I recently had my Mirena Coil fitted, I am 17 years old. I used to have the implant in my arm but had it removed after 6 months after it made me depressed and suicidal. My nurse advised me to have the coil to help with my acne (which I am very conscious about) and to balance out my hormones. The fitting was very uncomfortable as the nurse said that my body didn't really want the Mirena to be fitted as I haven't had a child and therefore my walls aren't stretched or something like that. She informed me she had left the strings long so I could find them when I got home and see what they felt like. When I first felt for the strings they seemed extremely low, almost an inch from the opening, I reached higher and could not feel any plastic so I was reassured that the coil had not become misplaced. However today, I felt uncomfortable as if the strings were poking me. I went to the bathroom and could actually feel the strings, this time they actually came out of my vagina opening a few centimetres. Again I reached higher to check for any plastic and could not feel any. I'm not sure whether to be worried as I'm on my period and I have read that some women's cervix moves when they're on their period and so they strings hang lower. Also because I have only recently had my coil fitted, could the strings just have been left too long and could I go back and ask for them to be shortened? Sorry for the long message, I've never posted on a forum before and I'm just looking for some advice. Thank you Smile

I would go and get it checked out as they can move. The strings can be shortened if necessary. The mirena can cause acne so not sure if it will help with that Confused
