vitamin b 12 deficiency

I kept getting painful dry areas between my lips. I was therefore sent for blood tests which showed I am anaemic ( prescribed iron tablets and folic acid tablets as low in folate) . Other symptoms I had but didn't really think about are feeling faint when standing, being underweight despite no changes to diet and general tiredness. Would my vitamin b 12 levels have been checked in my blood test or is this something I will need to request? Also would taking folic acid mask a deficiency in b12? Thank you
