I am very overweight. I am 5'5" and weigh 20 stone. I am working very hard on that, that's not what I want to talk about. My issue is that this cycle I tried using a cup for the first time. I've wanted to for years but had an IUD; now it's gone I decided it was time.

However, I find that although I can get it in, it's near on impossible to get out. I can't reach the fucking thing! I have a high cervix already, and apparently my body just sucked the little thing higher than (I think) it's intended to go. And my fat arms couldn't get around my fat torso well enough to reach in to grab the fucker very well. While it was in, it worked perfectly. I really want to be able to do this Sad

Has anyone else had an issue like this and worked through it? Or do I just need to accept that I'm too fat and inflexible at the moment and have to wait until more weight has dropped?

Are you reaching around the back or front? I reach around front whilst sat on toilet. If it goes far up, do little pushes to help it come down (or have a poo!)

I was reaching from the front. No way around the back would work!

Maybe sit back and reach? Or squat? Trial and error I think

I find a foot on the bath, or crouching in a deep squat, helps. Also bear down as you reach in.

Bearing down when you remove it is key. I find mine much easier to remove when I do.

Did you trim the stem too short?

It just takes practice, don't worry too much, it'll come out!

Bear down slightly, grab the tip with finger and thumb and hold on, bear down a bit more as you slip another finger up the side to release the seal and then it'll come out. Honestly, you don't need to be able to reach up to your cervix :)

I once got a sea pearl menstrual sponge stuck right up there (TMI but was trying it for sex during period....worked very well, no mess at all!) took me about 20 mins to get it out, squatting in the bath with my boyfriend the other side of the door asking if he could help at all Blush. It was the bearing down that got it out. I was glad I was experienced with the mooncup prior to that one!
