Is this cold inevitable?

Off on holiday next week. My DH has a heavy cold. Is there anything at all I can do to avoid catching it? Trouble is I am so tired with him coughing and sniffing all night, I feel that it imight be inevitable. I really don't want to spend long awaited hols with a cold. Any advice gratefully received.

Any sign of you getting it yet? I'm on day 4 of the Cold from hell and paranoid about anyone else getting it as it's so nasty. I've made sure my own personal hygiene has been perfect - not touching anything that someone else is going to use unless I've washed my hands first. Lots of hand washing through the day! Cleaning things with sanitiser if there is no option eg the tv remote. Mostly I've just been staying out of everyone's way.

So what I meant was - apart from regular hand washing yourse you might way to check that your DH is being scrupulous too.

I haven't prepared any food for anyone either.

Curly and Gladiators, thanks for the responses. I am still okay but just know it is brewing up waiting to hit the day I go. Hmm
