Can you call the out of hours service for advice - if you phone your surgery there should be an answerphone message with a number. I do sympathise, been there too, years ago.

I'm sure your doctor mentioned this, but is it possible you're having a miscarriage?

If not, sympathies. I had a really scary heavy period once when I lived in America with no health insurance. I would call out of hours as well.

I had this before I started levothyroxine

I was told that as my TSH level was too high it was causing very heavy bleeding. It was absolutely horrendous
I'd definitely recommend getting your levels re checked
