Can pregnancy affect your immune system?

Might be odd question but ever since having my children I've gone from rarely being ill to being ill all the time with little colds / flus / throat infections etc. Just small things and lots feeling run down but nothing in particular.

I know kids leave you knackered but they are 8 and 9 now! I've been to docs about it and they did blood test and white blood cell count was low but I was sent for further tests a few times and eventually it went back within the the normal range and I was discharged and told it must have been a virus, then more recently I had a general health mot involving fbc and again white blood cell showed low but general health otherwise perfect.

Can pregnancy damage your immune system anyone know?
