My Dad is in his 70s and was diagnosed with atrial fibrillation several years ago. He's on Warfarin. The other day he had a kind of fainting episode and has been struggling to get out of bed. He got a taxi to the GP who he says examined him for about half an hour, said he seemed OK but could send him up to the hospital to get checked further. He hadn't been taking the Warfarin regularly, so has been given another similar thing to take, Xarleto.
He thinks it's all about him not taking the med properly and now he is it will be OK. He's been given an emergency number to ring to go into hospital. I'm going to try to get up there soon but he's in Scotland.
Any advice what could be wrong, and if I should encourage him to go in or get further tests? I wondered about an ECG, they can do them at the GP nowadays. He is usually pretty OK, even goes out jogging. He says it took him two hours to get a shower last night, as he couldn't get up :-( Many thanks for any help.
