Seeing rain when it's not raining

Icyblue · 12/10/2015 10:13

Following on my two previous threads regarding my 10yr old dd who sometimes says she sees lines in her vision, she had now been seen by an optometrist and doctor. Her eyes are fine, not floaters and the doctor confirmed it's not migraine. My dd describes them like she's seeing rain. The lines are straight and transparent/white and fall down from above. Each episode lasts a few seconds and if she looks away, the lines/rain disappear. If she concentrates and looks at a background she sees them too.

Anyone came across this before?

I've seen exactly this once too and I am a 35-year-old adult who knows what she sees and can explain it (sometimes we tend to doubt kids' perspectives). I have no idea what it was but if maybe you do believe in a spiritual side to things that is what it seemed to be to me when I saw it... when my partner insisted he was seeing nothing I knew it was something only I was getting, sort of.

Have you looked as visual snow? Could be similar?

I am an adult and have full faculties. I've been seeing rain outside when it isn't raining for years now. It looks like a fine, light, steady rain that only I can see. My husband looks and sees nothing. I've done testing...checked weather reports, left water outside to check water movement, etc. I have never met anyone who sees what I do yet, so was happy to have found these posts. I have studied this phenomenon now and I too believe there is a spiritual meaning to it. I blew up a rain drop and drew a picture of it recently. I believe it is something a selected few can see and it's meaning will reveal itself when the time is right. The Earth used to be flat until proven round. Now I know that analogy only works if you are not a "Flat Earther". We are learning and growing continuously, that I hope we all can agree on. Blessing and love to all.

What might the spiritual meaning be @Smithriver?

Very irritating of the spirits not to do anything that is actually useful.

Report
Smithriver · 22/01/2020 17:19

One could come up with any meaning and maybe it means something different for each person. I try not to judge these phenomenons. I pay attention to how I feel (which is good with this rain) and therefore I trust the truth of it will be known when the time is right. It could be a form of healing, a message, it is unknown until it is known, understanding comes later. Until then, I try to do my best every day. I hope this helps.

Hey guys guess what??!! I am seeing it also and exactly as you all describe it! I keep seeing it the last three days and it happened again some time ago, one time was before about 2 or 3 weeks and the other time was last year, i think was spring. I love it and i am lost in wonder! I think it's Grace guys! It's raining Grace.
But sometimes I can see it only if I look attentively.
Everywhere i turn and look i keep seeing it and other times is so obvious and intense but other times i see it if i pay close attention. What a fuck?! I searched for it and i found you all here talking about that and i am so excited that there are others who see it also. Thank you so much! I am 33 years old and i am from Greece.
Thank you Thank you Thank you all beautiful beings!
Love and Blessings to You!! ❤️ 🙏

@LordOftheRingz ❤️ Wooow!!! That's amazing! And You know what? The last days I've been thinking this exact thing you validate now. That maybe all of our lives it's falling this mysterious rain but we didn't had the eyes to see it before. We were not attentive to the moment, we were too absorbed in our minds, indulging in thoughts and we were not present enough to see it. This is what i've come to find. And this is why the little girl could see it, because children are present, are always in the here and now moving with flow and they can see and sense things that others cannot but they are not consciously aware of that.
So i've come to find that every one of us in this planet is capable of witnessing this magic rain if he/she is present if he/she is dealing in the here and now, if he/she is sensitive to open to and attentive to the present moment. So we are held all the time even if we consciously aware of it or not, even if we feel it or not, even we see it or not Grace is showering our beings all the time. Thank you for confirming this.
🙏

It's called visual snow syndrome. I've had it about 4 years, barely register it anymore. It often goes hand in hand with tinnitus, which I have too. It's annoying but you do stop noticing it after a while.

Does she wear glasses? l'm short sighted & have several visual 'disturbances' that aren't actually there. I often struggle to tell if it's actually raining or not. I see colours, wiggly lines, have floaters and lots of other general weirdness as well. I wouldn't worry too much if she's had tests & they found nothing wrong. Eyes are quite strange sometimes.

Can guarantee it will be visual snow. I've had it for years.

I've had this for as long as I can remember, always mainly on a cloudy day, will look outside and I think it's very light fine rain

Hi all,
I was looking at your posts on seeing rain inside.

Every since I was a child I've seen rain inside, or at least a long rain drop coming down from the ceiling. Seems to have it's on light. I usually see it when I enter a room and to the right. Wherever I've lived I see them. Sometimes twice in the same day, then months or even a year will go by without seeing them. At 54 years old I am finally sharing this with people and what it took was a dream I had last night. I was in the living room where I was raised as a child and a multitude of these raindrops were coming down from the ceiling, exactly what I've seen all these years. I woke up.
Anyways, I have no idea what these rain sightings mean. Perhaps a flicker into another dimension? No idea. Just thought I'd share it.

I just Googled "I see rain, but it's not raining" and came across this board. I'm a 54 year old pretty healthy woman, who just had this happen to me twice today so far, and it's only 7:11am. I've never had this happen before, and was glad to see I'm not the only one.

I have been seeing rain for almost five years now after I was involved in a car accident on the highway when I sustained a concussion and whiplash. I have self-diagnosed it as visual snow (although I see it as rain) and was misdiagnosed by a neuro-optician as ocular migraine flashes (although I have had those as well for decades. But I know the difference. It seems to worsen when I have done too much. Almost everything is too much since this accident. Going shopping in more than one store in a day can be too much. Cleaning the house can be too much. Anyway, the visual rain appears stronger on these days. Just last week after doing too much I came home and got my dog's leash ready to take her for a walk. I looked out and it was raining like cats and dogs and it seemed to come out of nowhere. It was really a downpour and very unexpected. I opened the door to check my swimming pool (the best acid test) and there was no trickle or ripples to be seen. The water was as smooth as glass. I held my hand out and it stayed dry. Fooled again! My so-called mild traumatic brain injury (tbi) never resolved and only worsened as time went on. I also have double vision, occipital neuralgia (top of head and scalp feels like a bad sunburn and going to hairdresser's is sheer torture for me), severe balance problems with falls and fractures, working memory problems (reading comprehension level is now 3rd grade according to EyeQ testing). So perhaps some of you may have had a concussion in the past and didn't realize you may have some permanent damage as a result? My eye specialist agrees it is probably visual snow syndrome. For those of you who think it may be spiritual (several people posted this belief), you may be right, but I think watching rain can be soothing and calming. Like watching a waterfall. I thank God that I at least am seeing something very pleasant.

The same thing happened with me today around 12pm in broad daylight. The issue is I saw the rain, I even heard of on my shed and saw the droplets falling but when I checked the cctv footage no water was on the road. I swear I saw and heard the rain but nobody in my family believes!! And even I won't if I was in their shoes. So I searched over the internet and came across this. I could hv eye floaters or something but they wouldn't explain the reason for the rain drops hitting on shed. I am going loco in here, any one with any ideas what could be the reason. I read about the sunshower phenomenon but nowhere near my place was it raining. I thought I could hv hallucinated but the prob is I read somewhere regarding them and it doesn't happen like somebody is watching tv and they hear rain getting hit on shed and they venture outside. Anyone any thoughts

I have seen this for over 35 years I see it only in doorways silver droplets of light, several times the drops have joined up at one continuous drip, I wrote to Colin fry ( medium) who told me it was spirit, there’s is no noise when it happens they used to get as far as shoulder height before just disappeared but for several years now , they have joined up into one long line but disappear before get to the floor, I find it fascinating,

I have this too, and tinnitus. I never knew it was called visual snow, so thank you!
Good article here rarediseases.org/rare-diseases/visual-snow-syndrome/

Oddly enough when I went to the optician about it last year they had no idea what I was describing, they checked my eyes out and just said they were ok. I guess since it’s a neurological condition not an eye thing, they’re not very aware of it.

Sorry people, it’s not spirits or healing or any other woo Grin

Hello, I found your reply while researching visual snow as I have been experiencing it for about six months. It’s almost like my vision is clearer but there is a lot more depth to it. I see constant “rain” when I look outside, I also see flashes of lights when it’s dark and i open my eyes from blinking. Sometimes the air just looks fizzy in general. I have attributed it to working on self development and spirituality.

I don’t actually see it outside! Only when it’s raining of course🤣 yes I also see waves of energy going round the room, and particles in the air but only when I’m in bed sometimes when I wake up in early hours,( not all the time ) although I’m very interested in anything spiritual I haven’t developed it, you don’t hear the drops fall you see them,it’s nothing to do with tinnitus I’ve never suffered with that, and I go for regular eye checks , certainly doesn’t worry me it’s great

How funny! I see it indoors too but I always notice it when I’m about to go out and check “is it raining” and realise I need to look for actual water on the cars because my vision rain can’t be trusted there haha! 😉 and yes I agree, I’ve seen a lot written about the link to tinnitus but I’ve not experienced this either. Very bizarre but also cool!

Yes i saw it too. I was in a library. it was raining heavy outside and i could see it thru the giant glass. I was thinking I need to leave early cause there might be a bad traffic jam. i was watching the rain while i was in a call. Soon after the call i left the library to my surprise when i went out there is no a single drop of water to be seen anywhere. I asked around and confirmed there was no rain. Why did i see it?
