why do i cry over silly things even though i am nearly forty!

now why do i cry when my child (ds2) is in trouble at nursery, when i make a mistake in driving lessons, when the teacher at parents evening makes negative comments re: ds1, all the time when watching news, in front of other adults I break down regularly about all sorts of things.


I want to know how i can stop this because it really is quite embarassing as i feel the tears well up in my eyes.
Does anyone else do this

Yup - did it as a child and still do it now!! My dh thinks it amusing and rather sweet so I kind of just try to ignore it now - part of my make up. I only seem to cry when 'told off' or miserable rather than at weddings etc, although newborn baby programmes get me EVERY time!lol

I have always done it all the way through school etc and really want to be able to better control it - and am wondering if counselling hypnosis would help because i feel some people probably think i am slightl unballanced because my response is often so irrational

Me to . Though only since having kids I cry if I read / hear something really happy or sad. I hate it, it is as if I have no control
