Getting "pre-period" type discharge but days after period has finished - do I need to worry?

My periods have been changing for about a year now (I'm early 40s) and now I tend to get a lightish day, a really heavy day (think 3 inch blood clots and loads of bleeding/flooding) and then lightish days again. I've come to terms with that and know to wear maxi tampon and nightime pad plus dark trousers and long tops!

But this month a couple of days after my period ended I got the sort of faintly brown discharge I usually get the night before my period starts. Then I got it a couple of days later and again today. It's not heavy but I've never had any colour discharge before apart from the night before my period starts. Is this something to be worried about, is it peri-menopausal signs?

It's pinker than normal too. I just don't know if it's worth getting a doctors appointment over or if it's a waste Of their time.
