Ow ow ow! Sudden pain in leg

Just walking up the stairs to bed and I felt a sudden explosive sharp pain in the back of my left calf - hard now to walk and feels like I have pulled something . Much more painful to have foot flat than with pointed toes. - not sure what it could be . Any one had something similar?

Thanks fab - spot on - not torn but some sort of sprain or something - quite a lot better today thankfully but still only walking a little gingerly ..hopefully better soon
