Have been to GP as I just haven't felt right for a year now. Had bloods done and was told all came back fine.
Extreme tiredness
Exhausted 80% of the time
Fell day dreamy and not quite with it.
Sad/down or numb on and off depending on the day.
Anxiety and panic attacks about dying 2/3 times a day.
Feel cold when other people are in summer clothing.
Quite often want peace and quiet and don't want to talk to family which isn't like me ...etc.
Have little apatite but seem to feel like I am heavier than I was.
I keep forgetting simple things like the day of the week. What I did yesterday etc.
Have no motivation/energy to go out even though I really want to, like park with DD or out with friends for a drink and sometimes don't go just because I want to go to bed which isn't like me. I feel DD is missing out because we don't do much like we used too.
Bloods are apparently ok though and I don't want to go back to GP incase they think I am weird or something.

Did this come on after a bad cold or something similar? It could be post viral fatigue. Depression fits too.

What did your doctor think is going on?

You are not weird!.

Something has been missed here (you are not getting such symptoms for no reason) and it is certainly worth seeing another GP within the practice.

Were your thyroid levels (so not just TSH) properly tested?. This may be the root cause of your current health issues, that was my first thought when I read your post. Many GPs are simply not up to speed when it comes to such issues. If GP cannot help I would ask for a referral to an endocrinologist.

I am only early 20's and it all started when I stopped breast feeding DD at 6/7 months and has gradually got worse.
Dr tested for iron levels and thyroid which all came back ok but he said even if the results were ok to come back anyway.
Just wondered if anyone had experienced the same thing and worked out what it was. Just keep getting these horrible thoughts about things like bad things happening regarding DD which makes me upset. also sometimes I have to nap in the day before a 11pm - 6am shift but can't sleep because I get panicky and want to go get DD from pre school and everything plays in my head which means I am exhausted at work, then next time I know I have these shifts coming up, it affects my week because I am worrying about what I just mentioned all happening again.

How old are you?
Almost everything there is a variation on exhaustion.
Have common vitamin deficiencies been ruled out?

Depression fits. It doesn't sound bonkers at all but it does sound miserable for you.

You need to know if your thyroid tests were ok as it fits the symptoms of hypothyroidism.

If not it Sounds like it could anxiety and depression to me. That's kind of how I felt.

Hope you feel better soon.

I often get similar symptoms. Do you know what your iron levels are? I was told mine were normal but when I got the number, they were JUST in normal. I asked FIL who is a GP if this could still cause symptoms and he said that in some people being on the "low side" but within normal range can still cause symptoms. I started taking an OTC iron tablet and feel loads better.

Did your GP check your Vit D levels? I had very similar symptoms (the panicky anxiety type feelings were the weirdest thing, as I felt like I had perspective and that they weren't genuinely psychological in nature, but more of a physical manifestation of something). My vitamin D levels were chronically low - I hadn't been supplementing at all whilst breastfeeding for 15 months, which might have contributed. A few months of a course of high strength Vit D from GP sorted me out completely. I had thought I was dying of some rare disease I felt that terrible!

I agree about possibilty of low Vit D causing the symptoms ,and have read ( on MN ) that testing for Vit D is expensive so may not be routinely done .

Low Vit D and borderline anemia ( some people are symptomatic at almost normal levels ) plus working night shifts plus having a child/ren could well account for your symptoms .
And Vit D does really affect mood .

Please go back to GP .

I had these symptoms a couple of years ago. Even doing the most simplest of tasks would drain me
The gp diagnosed me with a post viral infection.
I also had blood test after blood test and one thing that came back were low b12 levels they suggested a change to my diet for a while first before they went down the injection route and things did impeove.

I remember it was a horrible time though. Hope you're better very soon.

My thyroid went when I was 20. Similar symptoms. I'd want to know the exact results for that.

I recently had borderline ferritin (iron) - possibly mixed with thyroid nsd issues im not sure but also similar symptoms, and I was also wondering about vit d.

I'd ask for a print out of ranges. Then think about things like depression etc. Though the way you list it looks more like something not quite right.

Clarella · 24/06/2015 21:47

Day dreamy was how I felt with low ferritin, but it was around 50. Seemingly not enough for me.

Are you constipated?

Hi OP I have just posted on a very similar thread!!! I have had lots of these symptoms and had lots of blood tests done. get your but d checked (was a routine check for me via GP) and get ferratin checked. My ferratin is 'normal' range but towards the low end at 19. Now on ferrous sulphate supplements. Hope you feeling better soon Thanks xx
