Dental problems...please advise :(

Hi. Can anyone advise? Or give their experiences?....
Had 3 fillings done (2 bottom, 1 top molars all left side) in March.
Had problems ever since.
All teeth were cracked and the fillings were deep.
Not normally bothered too much by dental stuff...had wisdom teeth out etc never any issues.
But this!...
Since the second filling (lower) I have been in pain. I have lived on pain killers since March!
Initially, I could barely open my jaw after the anaesthetic wore off. (He said some blood may have gone into the muscle?) Then got hot and cold sensitivity. So I got some sensitive toothpaste...no effect.
Went back....Dentist says he can't see anything wrong on x Ray.
Said I grind my teeth and need a night splint.
Waited 2 weeks for that to be made.
He said to give it 2 weeks...it's been a week and a half and I'm in agony :(
Everything I eat and drink hurts. The upper tooth is throbbing.
I am at my wits end.
I have another appt on Monday morning as I am desperate to sort it out.
My jaw still feels sore, which is radiating to my left ear.
I am so tempted to tell him to just pull the damn thing out - cheaper than a root canal.

Do I need 3 root fillings!?

God that sounds grim. I think I'd give the emergency dentist a ring and see if they can give you some advice. Failing that, I'd be demanding x-rays to check for infection.

I think you should see if you can get an appointment sooner.

I doubt another X-ray would show anything, (as radiographic changes can take months) but does tapping on a tooth cause even more pain? This is one of the best ways of identifying the problem. Your dentist should be able to put something very cold on the teeth to help identify the cause.

All the initial things your dentist said seems correct, however now it does sound to me that something else might be going on.

It does sound like your nerves are dying off ( hence the pain with temperature) to keep the tooth in this case would require root canal ( if the tooth is dying)
