I had it done this week! Quick operation, not too much pain, needed a couple of days to get over GA, no bleeding but lots now and not sure how long it will go in for. Really hoping it sorts out my painful and really heavy periods.

I have and had my tubes clipped at the same time as the consultant was insistent that one of us was sterilised or continued to use a reliable method of contraception as you can still get pregnant; consequences of that are very serious post op.

Anyhow my quick 4 hour discharge didn't occur. I was in agony and on morphine for 24 hours and stayed in for 2-3 nights. Had 2 weeks off work and then had one week of half days as I was still quite rough etc.

However it was absolutely worth it. No more 7-10 days of heavy periods, no more flooding, no more disturbed nights and was able to start exercising regularly.

I have a bit of spotting for a few days still but rarely wear any protection at all just stick to black knickers. More a case of a bit of brown blood/discharge when I wipe IYWSIM.

Had it in January. It was absolutely hideous, but it has worked and I'm glad I did it.

I had mine in the fall of 2013, recovered so fast, and no periods since! The best thing I have ever done for myself was pushing to get it done. After 25 years of being anemic, I'm not anymore!

I'm also thinking of having a novasure. Has anyone had a reduction in period pains after having it, or have they stayed the same.

I didn't suffer with major periods pains but the discomfort and horrible heavy dragging and stinging sensations completely disappeared.

Since the ablation, the only way I know now where I am in my cycle, is that for two days a month I'd pick a fight with the pope himself if he looked at me funny, and I want nothing but cheese and pickles to eat.

That's great Beachy! How long ago did you have your ablation?

I had it October of 2013
