Can they change due to other factors?

Yes they can but it's important to get them checked.

Yes they can change for other reasons, I have had someremoved that changed ie size and colour changed. They were fine though, they send then off to be tested and all clear.

Do you have a mole that is worrying you?

They can begin to change before they become malignant. I've had three melanomas removed (and many other moles which were okay). Even if they are melanomas, if you catch them early, removal can be curative. Better get them checked sooner rather than later.

Healthy moles are supposed to change (who knew?). Moles tend to get paler as you get older, for instance. You can still get new moles into your old age (actually I think it's quite common).

Most changes are benign (yes I have one like that). It usually takes a lot of expertise to spot differences between problem & benign, though.

Pants. I though they did a bit over many years. I though it was itching / redness that was the issue? I'm like a bloody Dalmatian, half moles half freckles, the freckles do fade or come back so I thought ok? Thanks for the tip.

Itching and redness are issues. Also size (over 6mm diameter more likely to be malignant). Irregularity of shape (assymmetry) and colour and unclear irregular borders are all warning signs. Anyone with a large number of moles is also more likely to be at risk I believe.

Kudos for the excellent use of the epithet "pants" though. Good luck.

Thanks :)

So pink and frilly pants are good, pink and frilly moles are not (itchy is not good for either)
