IBS and stomach pains

I'm currently medicated for IBS and undergoing further investigations to confirm this diagnoses.
This passed 10 days/2weeks I've had a horrible burning/fizzing pain in my abdomen (from ribs down to belly button) and a ridiculous stabbing pain under my ribs radiating round to my back and down my right side towards my groin, it does come and go but it's always the same kinds of pain.
I cannot get an appointment with my GP and I've got an appointment at the hospital in 3weeks, is this just something that happens with IBS? Should I be concerned and speak to ooh?
Any advice would be greatly appreciated!

Could it be gallstones? The stabbing and radiating pain are often associated with them.

Ive had previous scans of my gallbladder which showed a polyp but no stones. Last scan was approx 6months ago.
