ds (18months) still vomitting after 8 days - anyone with advice/experience

Ds has had a tummy bug and is still vomitting daily. We've been to GP but then he hadn't been sick for a day so doc thought he was over it. But he's still tired, tiny appetite and is sick at dinner every night. It seems he's gagging on his dinner as that's the only time he's sick (okay at breakfast and lunch but only eats a tiny bit), but then he's really sick. He's never been a gagger before, even when weaning. Has anyone else's child done this after a bug or do you think it's still the bug that's making him sick. Sorry, a bit garbled but getting very worried about him.

Babylulu like this after bout of gastro 6 months ago...doc sent a poo sample off to check for lactose intoelrance which can be triggered temporarily by tummy bugs......

she was vomiting and having runny nappies for weeks....

how old is he and is he taking enough fluid?

wet & pooey nappies as per usual?

He's 18 months and taking fluids fine. Nappies back to normal after a few days and seems fine with milk. He's just very listless, hungry then refuses food and gags easily if anthing's at all chewy/lumpy.

if listless and off food...wouldn;t hurt to get him checked out...
although if he has had a sore tummy, he might not want to eat as still having some pain....back to docs on monday I think!

Already planning to visit doc on Monday. I'm sure he'll just say we need to sit it out though. Can't think what else to do. Others who've had the same bug got over it in anything from 1 to 7 days so hopefully he'll be on the mend soon.
Thnaks for your responses. I'm hoping in some ways that it's still the bug making ds sick. After so much chucking up, I've been worrying he's getting food-phobic and vomitting whenever he tries to swallow.

Never made it to the doctor as, come Sunday, he was much perkier although still not really eating much but was fine by Monday. It was 9 days of sickness which I found really worrying but now he's more than making up for it and is chomping his way through the fridge contents. Thanks to everyone for your support.
