at my wits end
posting to see if someone else has similar symptoms or advice.

started coughing 7 weeks ago, first productive now dry.
my chest is heavy when lying down- so i have to sleep upright.
breathless and chest pain with exertion.
nausea
fatigue
swollen ankles at night -sometimes
very cold during the day ,very hot during the night.
lightheaded on standing
upper back pain - just below the shoulder blades

ive had 2 xrays - (history of pneumonia) first blood test showed infection and had a temperature so had 5 day course of amoxicillin.
latest blood test normal.

gp -thinks whooping cough ,but agrees wouldnt cause heavy chest, breathless (when not coughing ) and swollen ankles.
ooh wanted me admitted to amu as my heart rate was 130 bpm but thats not unusual for me.

I've had a chest infection for 14 weeks now. Started very like whooping cough, was waking up in the night gasping for air. I developed pleurisy. Then two weeks ago had flu like symptoms, ended up in A&E on a nebuliser
Now have excruciating pain below my right shoulder blade through to my breast. I'm currently on my 7th course of antibiotics. I crackle when I breathe or cough.
My GP says he's got a few cases like mine. I don't smoke, spend a lot of time outside, haven't had a cold for about 8 years...
Hope you feel better soon .

I've had three clear chest xrays. Which is reassuring. I've been referred to the respiratory consultant. Feeling very despondent about it all. I've put on weight ss I'm not very active even though my appetite is not very good.
Sad

Curious what happened if you're still around? On week 7 of chest infection, 4 lots of antibiotics, clear chest X-rays, still feel absolutely rotten.
