Worried about ds's nipple

14yo ds bruised his nipple while running. Not chaffed, bruised by something in his jacket pocket repeatedly bashing him during the run.

This was 2w ago. It doesn't hurt unless pressed, but the areola is still distinctly swollen. It's a firmish swelling, though not a lump.

Should I worry?

Could it perhaps just be swollen anyway ?

Teen boys can suffer from gynecomastia to some extent.

My DS had it, just on one side, for a couple of years. Seems to have subsided now. He is 16.

The bruising while running could perhaps have felt more painful due to the swelling, not the running causing the swelling iyswim?

If you are still worried then go and see the nurse/doctor just to check.

Thank you. I think it probably is gynaecomastia. TBH it looks more like a girl's breast bud than an injury.

Now to explain it to ds in a way that won't freak him out
