DD2 has some very bad nappy rash and its not clearing up. it looks more like a bad rash rather than nappy rash iykwim. i think its also itching her. we've tried everything, airing her bum, loads of sudocream. we havent changed nappy brands or anything, although she is teething and has a slight cold.

she's never had this with her other teeth. any suggestions/advice would be much appreciated. as usual cant get her to see anyone until monday!

my dd1 gets like this when she's teething. Sudocrem very often doesn't work. I think its something to do with the acidity rising in the wee when they're teething which irritates poor skin. If you can tell when she's weed change nappy asap (easier said than done i know i'm lucky dd tugs at her crotch so i can tell), try getting her to drink as much water as poss to dilute the acidic wee. I also find baby talc instead of sudocrem drys out the rash as it looks a bit wet iyswim and sudocrem seems to make this worse. hth

you're right, the sudocream doesnt seem to be working at all, not making it worse but certainly not better. its been almost 5 days now.

thanks for the advice

hi my dd has had nappy rash on "bits" for few days and its thrush, and she has been prescribed an anti fungal cream. It could be this, or it could be normal teething rash
