Anti nuclear antibodies? and hypertyroidism

Ben diagnosed with hyperthyroidism and also told I tested positive for anti nuclear antibody. I have no idea what this is, the gp said it can show lots of things amd she would look into it once I had been on thyroid meds for a while. Not sure why, ate they related. She said it could show hepatitis but that I didn't have this as liver was fine. ....

Anyone else know anything about it? !

Ana antibodies show up in a person with some autoimmune conditions such as sjogrens,lupus etc.BUT they can also be present when no AI conditions actually develop.Your GP will keep an eye and yes sounds sensible to wait a while for your thyroid to settle on meds and take it from there.

Thanks mrs I'm sure there's a whole load of autoimmune conditions that all have similar symptoms.
