Been feeling rough recently, fainted twice, feel dizzy and faint still with a sore throat where i imagine thyroid would be. Extreme tiredness that isnt cured by sleep and anxiety that causes my heart to feel like it's racing. Have had a blood test and results due back tomorrow. What treatments bar surgery is there for this? Thanks

The NHS peddles thyroidectomy or radio active iodine as 'cures' for this, but both of these will leave you under active and possibly in for a long struggle to get adequately medicated.

You can actually take the first line drugs long term, as well as trying for remission. Some people have one episode and no further problems.

Get properly tested and referred to a consultant if it's positive. Over active thyroid is not a job for a GP.

Good luck
