Has anyone had to be refered to gynae for a coil fitting?

I tried to have a coil fitted today at the FP clinic but they couldn't do it :( Said my cervix was too tight. They have offered to refer me to gynae to have it fitted but I was wondering if it was worth it and I should give it up as a loss.

I can't have the pill (too fat) so I am running out of options which is annoying.

I'll be having my next one fitted under sedation at the hospital, so yes, at gynae due to me going into cervical shock last time (I like to be awkward). I love my Mirena - not had a period for years and no more nasty endo.

Thank you for your reply. I hope they can get it in, hopefully without sedation (although I do quite like sedation)! I am getting a copper coil I think...
