C Section 3 Years Ago and Leg Raises

Had a crash section 3 years ago followed by an internal tear of the wound and infection. Obviously all healed.

Started seeing a personal trainer as worried at how unfit I was becoming when previously very fit.

She says my cardio is better than sje thought it would be etc but I can not lay on my back and lift both of my legs up and down. I manged four struggling and now I can not isolate the muscle, and it makee me slightly panicky that I'll rip.

Is it just weakness? It is a very simple exercise really and I couldn't even lift my legs today.

erm i can offer a totally unqualified opinion? personal trainers dont necessarily know much btw either.

it could be that you just dont have enough muscle strength yet. did you have your hands under your bum to support your lower back? there are lots of easier exercises you could start with. pilates is v good for this for instance. careful though - your body will try to cheat if it is too hard, and use the wrong muscles

I was going to suggest pilates too.

I had two emcs 10+ years ago and would have said I just did not have any stomach muscles at all, but after going to a class once a week for a couple of months- I have stomach muscles that work! Grin
