Having to vomit after meals

About three hours after a meal I sometimes get the need to throw up. I get a pain just below my sternum ( upper epigastric area) just before and just after I vom.

It's not every meal. I don't have massive meals and I don't like fried foods. Tonight's episode was after a smallish meal of home made spaghetti Bol .

I do have IBS (d) and a transit time of 5 hours ( which can be fun) so I wondered if the sphincter between my stomach and bowel was mis firing iykwim. I am also bloated quite a bit at the mo. My IBS is nice and quiet at the moment.

Any one ? Sick of seeing gp at moment as I have asthma, hypertension hypercholesterolaemia and an under active thyroid- all inherited from my grandparents

You should see GP and request a camera(endoscopy) to check out what is going on, if it persists don't ignore it.

It's got worse today

Feeling nauseous, pain just under my ribs/sternum. Clammy sweats ( but that has subsided)

Rang GP and nothing until this time next week

BUT if I call tomorrow at 8am repeatedly until I get through ( last time I did this it took 50 recalls) I could get to see GP tomorrow or Monday ( if the appointments haven't already been taken)

Part of me says fuck it and live with it

The other part of me (ex nurse) says it sounds like a fucking ulcer and that isn't a thing you can just ignore.

Been sick twice today too... Bollocks!

Do not ignore this. How old are you? Has it been a gradual thing with the pain I.e just occasional before becoming more feequent or is it a suddenthing? Hope you get through at 8am.

it is just.....sick (i can identfy it though)

i am 46 and i have had indigestion pain for 8 weeks but it got better for a couple of weeks (i started on some new tablets for my BP so put it down to that and decided to ride it out)....vomiting on and off for a couple of weeks, wasnt every day - every for days then since last weekend i have thrown up nearly every day and now it has been twice in the past 24 hrs.

wondered if it was a bug...but i dont feel "ill" as such.

What type of anaemia? Just wondered if it was b12 deficiency? I have hypothyroidism too but also coeliac disease (all autoimmune and to some extent genetic) - have you had a blood test for coeliac?

Not anaemia

High cholesterol - not diet related.

Get it checked, even if you have to wait for an appointment. Doesn't sound like it will go away by itself and you will be losing much needed nutrients too. In the meantime, keep a diary of what you eat and when it happens in case there is a pattern that a consultant can look into.

Yep, pain under ribs+throwing up-sounds like gallstones to me too.
