Has anyone experienced one of their pupil's being bigger than the other? One of mine is visibly bigger than the other, particularly in brighter light. My doctor has referred me to an eye specialist, I just wondered if anyone had had this and what it was?
Thanks

Yes I had this happen about 6 years ago which made my pupils uneven and eyesight blury. I saw the specialists at the hospital and they ran lots of tests. In the end they concluded I had had a cold/virus that somehow affected my eye. It is still like this now but is only noticible in dull light as one of my pupils stays small.

My son had this when he was little. Unfortunately we didn't know about it and it came to light after a fall on the head -> unconcious -> ambulance. On the way in to hospital they said it and i knew it could mean brain swelling etc.
Ds had a scan (MRI I think) and 5 doctors discussed it, concluding, the different sized pupils had nothing to do with the fall. He had concussion.

He still has them though it is not very noticeable anyway as he has dark brown eyes.
His vision has always been fine btw.

Sooo, it might be nothing. Brew

Dd has had this since birth-are you sure you've just never noticed before?

Mine are unequal, and have been since I was a child. It wasn't noticed in early childhood but photo's confirmed it, so it may be worth looking at old photos just in case it is old. My twin was the same but the other way around.
Its best to get it checked out, as there are many causes of acquired unequal pupil sizes.

I have this, it's a condition called Holmes Adie.

Mine was brought on by a virus too. At first it was extremely noticeable but seems to,have faded after a few months.

My eyesight isn't blurry at all. The ophthalmologist said the only known symptom is a quickening of reflexes ?!?
