My mother died of the same. there is 'some' evidence that it can be heriditary, I read alot about it at the time but decided that the evidence is so thin that it's not worth fretting about.

Everyone who knows me knows that if I collapse or complain of a vicious headache they are to call am ambulance immediately.

Whilst serious haemorrages can be fatal, small ones need not be if treated promptly.

HTH a little xx

Hi

Know a little bit about this, someone in my family had a haematoma. In a small percentage of cases they can be hereditary but more than 1 family member would probably be known to have sufferred from this if that was the case. I am guessing your dh's mother died some time ago? If it was recently any scans done at the time would help to identify if it was the inherited type.

I would go to see you gp for advice. Maybe if you have serious concerns you dh could go for an MRI scan?
