If you can't hang on for more than 15mins bubblepop, then I would say you might have a problem. I had IBS a few years ago, and the first indication that something was seriously wrong was when I almost didn't make it to a loo when in the town centre one day.

If I'm out walking around or at work I can hold on pretty much indefinitely but when I'm out for a run, unless I answer the 'urge' almost immediately I have a big problem!

I did actually have an 'accident' once on the way back from a run and even though I was less than half a mile from my front door, I didn't manage to hold it in. (I had had a bit of a tummy upset the day before though, which probably didn't help).

Runners bum,CurrantBun,isn't that quite common?

I too can hang on indefinitely until I find a clean, private loo.

If I am out and about I can hang on quite a while, but do get all nervous and a tingling in my right arm when I get really desperate... (odd, I know...)

If at home than tingling and nervousness kicks in within about 10 minutes or so, sometimes less....

Can't wait and often have to make a mad dash so immediately in my case!

it depends on time of the month for me so must be hormones or something. mid cycle i'm fab for both 1s and 2s. just b4 and during period i'm rubbish and can't hold either for long - have def done the doorstep thing...the doorstep must count as the most common place for an accident i'd say and not only goin by myself. prob cos we try to wait til at home. glad i've found another reason not to take up running!!

its unbelievable that some people can hold on. My 5 year old dd told me she will not use school loos for number 2's, and waits till she gets home!

Well, all day, as i find the moment often passes. I thought all women were the same as me.

You know, no time, bloody kids keep opening the cubicle door or at worst you have to leave them outside defending for themselves.

I must apply for the record breakers then.

I can normally hold for hours or until I get home.... unless I am in a library or bookshop and I have to find a loo in 5 mins or I'm in trouble. I do not know why these 2 places affect me this way but I once mentioned it to my Mum and she is the same. I also find that if I am on the telephone calling long distance (as I usually am), an urgent loo visit urge happens. Just glad I have a cordless phone (Sorry TMI)!!

I would never use a loo anywhere except my own for a number2, not anywhere - so I can wait for hours.

It depends what I have been eating and so on. Sometimes, for a long time, sometimes, I would need to find a toilet pretty soon. I think it is normal and natural to need to go quickly sometimes but if it is causing you problems I would speak to a doctor.
