DD2 gets this periodically (linked with another condition she has). Stress makes it worse, so now she knows what it is, she can accept she feels horrible, but it does pass, which seems to limit the length of an "attack". Motilium, sipping water, and waiting it out in bed are the best things for her Sad.

I think gastroparesis is one of those "describe a symptom" diagnoses though, so how it is for will probably depend on why you have it. DD's is linked to autonomic dysfunction, so she has to wait till her autonomic system resets itself/she stops stressing about something completely different/she remembers to do all the lifestyle stuff she's supposed to be doing to try and minimise symptoms/side effects.

Thanks for reply.

It's pretty confusing about what to do/change/eat and other outside factors can affect it. I had my gallbladder removed and seemingly abdominal surgery can instigate it.

Mine had a barium meal and it showed that my stomach wasn't emptying so now going in for endoscopy and Botox next week to keep the muscles open.

Haven't heard that this is guaranteed to work tho.

How is your daughter when it flares up? Since this happened I've been Illand off work for almost 6 weeks and it's stressful and depressing.

I was diagnosed with this recently after nearly a year of unexplained vomiting and stomach pain. I can manage my vomiting by eating little and often. Plus, I can only eat certain foods. The stomach pains seem a little harder to control. I am happy to give you the info I found if you'd like?
