I'm very not well

I don't know if it's just a bug or something serious

It's been 24 hrs. Crushing headache, thrown up 46543 times

Can lift my head I'm so dizzy it makes me sick

Do I sleep it off? Phone a dr. Leave it a few days to see if I get better / die?

I'm never ill. I don't know what to do

Could it be a migraine? Hope you feel better soon

No I do get migraine. I took my usual medication that works like a switch usually. Didn't touch it. Have had codeine. That didn't help either though I've not been sick for an hour

This is a very different to migraine

Like crushing pain but like huge pressure in my head

Did it come on suddenly or gradually build up? I think you should go and see a doctor and get checked out, can someone take you?

Was aware of it in the early hours of yesterday morning. Took a maxalt thinking it was a migraine but it didn't go it stayed

What's nhs 111? Will they tell me if I'm really I'll or just a bug?

I think you should see a Dr this morning

ilovepicnmix · 10/07/2014 09:35

It's probably just a bug but I'd call 111 for reassurance.

111 will send you to a doc. Is there anyone there with you to keep an eye on you?

Report
hashtagwhatever · 10/07/2014 09:36

I'd see a dr just to be sure.

I wouldn't bother with 111, you need to see someone, they can examine you, check for fever, look in the back of your eyes etc

It may be a bad migraine but you have said it feels different and severe headache with vomiting is something that should be checked out asap.

You need to see a doctor. Please don't leave it.

What you have described - crushing, pressure and vomiting - is exactly how my Dp was when he had viral meningitis.

Good. Take it easy and update us if you can.

It may be nothing but it's better to get checked over and know for sure it's nothing than leave it and it possibly be something.

Good luck Thanks

Thanks guys [tearful weak smile]
The dr checked me out and said probably a virus. I was a complete tit and started crying as soon as I sat down Blush

I think I feel a bit better

Haven't thrown up s day though still feel a bit icky

Headache bad but she gave me some codeine / paracetamol

She said if it was still bad tomorrow to call and they send me for a scan

I'm sure i'll be fine. No temp. Blood pressure fine so probs not dying

Glad you are feeling better.

A little tip drink a can of coke with the cocodamol always seems to work better for me.

Day three of The Headache

It's still really bad. Didn't sleep well

I'm better in that I'm not throwing up any more so do I take that as a sign in on the mend

I've still got a very very had headache that makes me fizzy when I move

Do I ride this out or ask for a scan, which seems a bit melodramatic

I'd have a temp if it was meningitis right? which in my mine only leaves a brain tumor to worry about

Headache for so long and so severe I'd ask for a scan.

Report
ilovepicnmix · 11/07/2014 08:45

No harm in speaking to the gp again.

Report
3littlefrogs · 11/07/2014 08:47

The GP told you to call if it wasn't better.
Follow that advice.
If you don't call they will assume you are better and you won't get the investigations you need.

It might be a bit better. But then I've been taking the codeine.

I dont know how to judge

it's a bit better so I'm on the mend right? The worst is over, I'll soon be well. But actually it still hurts

Would I have a temperature if it were a brain tumor? That's all I'm (irrationally I'm sure) worried about

I'd see the gp again.

They did offer to do the scan. Your still poorly so may as well and hopefully it's nothing to worry about.

Report
overthemill · 11/07/2014 09:31

Go back to GP that's what they said to do. They won't mind if it's 'nothing' because I guess it could be all manner of things and that's how they find out!
