I've lost 5 stone since xmas, now about 9 stone -

But my lips and gums are so sore, is it a vitamin thing??

Have cut out total carbs and sugar, is it that?

That's an awful lot of weight, check with your doctor I am in awe though.

Tell us how you did it then?

Oh, and well done!

I agree with a check up at the docs. Can I ask how you managed to lose so much weight in so short a time?

I think losing that percentage of your body weight in that short space of time classes you as Anorexic. See your GP as soon as you can.

Honestly, my other half left, and stopped eating for a few weeks (not healthy at all I know) then just celery and hummus every few days -

Now just no carbs, and just not hungry lol, so just don't eat -

Wasn't really a diet, just a hard 4 months, and got fed up of getting called a fat cow by him -

Sure there's a book there somewhere lol -

Please see your GP, this is not a LOL. Situation. What have you eaten today?

Oh, I'm sorry. That's awful for you, but you really need to see someone. You'll fade away to nothing.

No diet based on food group exclusion is healthy,or sustainable.
You need to maintain healthy diet and reintroduce food groups in correct proportions
If you're run down,see Gp

Its just my lips and gums - other than that skin and hair healthy and feeling okay, not tired or anything,

I do go days without food but drink green tea and lemon, run and exercise daily??

scottishmummy · 19/04/2014 22:26

Look, you know that's not a balanced diet to exclude food or exist on green tea

You know you need to see a doctor. Why not make an appointment?

It isn't just your lips and gums, it's just that's all you can see. Go to your gp, you may have tipped over into an eating disorder. I get that it is fun to show you r ex how slim you can get, but it stops being funny once you pay with your health.

OscarWinningActress · 19/04/2014 22:30

Lemon is really acidic and can irritate your mouth, so possibly that but whatever you're doing doesn't sound healthy. You certainly shouldn't be able to maintain daily, dedicated exercise on celery and hummus...you need to fuel like an athlete! Go and have a chat with your GP ASAP Flowers.

Yes probably vit c or b vits deficiency. Get to the GP because that fast weight loss can be dangerous. You need some blood tests pronto.

What bellediva said. Your GP can answer this, we can't, not without taking blood or having a look at you.

Check with the doc. I would guess at vitamin c or iron deficiency .... Your body needs vitamin c to absorb iron efficiently so both are linked. I'm not medically trained though and advise you to get advice and a check up with your doc.

Clearly you're not ok,it's not regular to have sore gums, lips.but you know that
Op by posting those symptoms, you clearly are worried?you should get it checked
Let's face it no one responsible is going to say,oh don't worry about it.

Report
gamerchick · 19/04/2014 22:41

you'll be running low on everything by now and you know it or you wouldn't have posted.

If your lips and gums are sore then the cracks in the corner of your mouth will appear soon. Your gums will start to bleed and recede and your teeth may drop out eventually if you don't address this.

GO to your GP and tell them what you've been doing and in the mean time get some meal replacement shakes in and have 3 a day.

Why can fast weight loss be dangerous?

I don't want to hurt myself or anything, just had a hard few months and wanted to be thinner -

Really not ill, and I'd eat if I was hungry honestly, just managing without and exercising makes me feel better!

Only posted because of lips and gums - totally understand the lemon thing now, makes sense, thanks for that x

Going days without eating is neither normal or healthy.

Go and speak to your GP, your gums may be the least of your worries.

Report
scottishmummy · 19/04/2014 22:46

Your diet is poor, you exclude food groups, you starve yourself
Rapid weight loss can affect your heart, puts strain on body, electrolyte imbalance
A good diet is balanced and doesn't exclude food groups
