Bites on legs

I have never been bitten in my entire life and my DP generally gets ravaged in the summer.

However for the past few weeks I have had red itchy lumps only calves and ankles. At first I put them down to a problem I have with my immune system but those aren't normally itchy, and some of them are really big! What could they be?

I do have a cat but he has a flea allergy so we are meticulous about doing them (could my house get fleas without him having them?). Are there another bugs I wouldn't know about and if so what do I do about them?!

Yes, your house could have fleas. Indorex is great, if you don't already have a good spray for treating the house effectively.

Can you see flea?
We have the same problem..
Me and DH are getting bitten. The dog is very short haired and isn't scratching.
I have treated the dog, just in case.

Check out bed bugs. They are horrid and cause big itchy lumps. They are also hard to get rid of or to spot.

Bed bugs are a frigging nightmare.

My dd had them in her bed, we ended up just throwing her mattress away and buying a new one.
All her toys went in the freezer.
They were very difficult to spot, we only ever saw one.

That was enough.

If you have a problem with your immune system and a rash, please see your doc to get checked out.

Even though you say your bites don't resemble what is shown as typical I'd say that their location is very indicative of fleas. Have you been to a friend's house where there are pets? (I used to get them at MIL's house at the time she had a cat, and it took me a few visits to cotton on!)

Just found one on my thigh but it had a little whitehead on it (sorry for tmi). So random! I don't think I've ever had a facial type spot on my thigh before?!

Does it look like a vasculitic rash? Do you have an autoimmune disease? You should get it checked out by GP on Monday just in case.

No, it's spots/bites.

Not autoimmune, I have something called PFAPA.

I have an mot only a couple of weeks ago tho and I am grand Smile

Have you taken up any carpets recently? A lot of us had bites at work and it turned out to be carpet beetles, we'd had new carpets and they'd been lying dormant in the old ones.

I had something like this and it was linked to being on the pill, its called something like erythema nodosum and is an inflammatory condition.

I have changed the pill I was on and its slightly better but one of the spots I had on my leg was awful and I ended up having 2 days off work with it!!
