coughing up yellow/brown mucus

Im asthmatic but its well controlled
Since saturday ive started having blocked nose,cataargh&a cough with hard feeling throat(not really sore as such)&this cough is producing brown mucus.ive upped my inhalers to twice a day since it started&after a while once ive used the inhalers it turns more yellow ish.
I also use a beconase spray for my nose which ive also upped to twice daily but nose isnt clearing v quickly
ive had problems with my ears for a while.itching pain etc
Does this brown mucus mean an infection?
Im guessing its all linked
Ive been quite breathless at times.especially yesterday when walking home from work.i couldnt take a breath in&panicked a bitbut was ok after
Am i gonna have to end up going to gp again?

Sounds like an infection to me.

You need to go the doctors.

Went to drs this morning&ive got
a respiratory infection
Hes put me on a course of antibiotics&steroids
