Is my nail going to fall off?

I trapped my thumb really hard in a door hinge last night. It's still sore and tender but not swollen and I can move it easily, so def not broken.

Is the nail going to fall off? I can't see the colour as have nail varnish on.

If it didn't bleed and isn't swollen, it may not fall off. But even if it does, it will grow again.

Thirty years ago my wife did it in a car door, and that really was bad!

I did his to my toenail, the nail did fall off after a long time, but grew back, I couldn't face looking at it but DH said it looked ok!!
