New year better me?

Ok so in the last year I have (in order)

Started taking the pill
Put on 1 stone 3lbs
Been diagnosed with a hiatus hernia, low blood pressure and low pulse rate

I am now at the end of my tether and am going to change things!

Starting by:

Going back to the non hormone coil (had this successfully for 5 years before Dd)
Identifying things that make the hernia pain worse
Eating less and better
Start exercising more

I'm writing this to make myself stick to it! Anyone want to join me?

So far I have dropped breakfast to 2 slices of toast rather than 3.

Limited Christmas sweets and cakes

Identified tomatoes and chocolate as a trigger for pain and cut down on both!

Plan for tomorrow is make drs appointment to sort the coil and possibly get a dramatic hair cut :)

Since it's only me I will update so I don't forget and can hopefully see some progress.

Been to dr about the coil and I'm getting swabs done soon then next cycle he will fit it - slightly nervous as the last one fell out but I'm sure this one will be better :)

Item 2 on the agenda - eat better is a massive failure today so I will start again tomorrow :)

Yes I need to improve my health too and will be starting on New years day. I have put on 4 stone in past 5 years and am feeling a bit rubbish. I drink a bit too much, smoke, don't exercise and I have lots of problems with my digestive system so I need to sort it out. I turned 35 this year and would like to head towards 40 in good shape.

I am not going to diet as it never works for me. Am going to start by adding more fruit and veg to my diet and cut down smoking and drinking and go from there. Small steps :)

Angry, small steps sound the way to go! Diets don't really work for me either, I am too much of a rebel to be told what I can't eat if that makes sense?

I use to be 5 stone heavier than I am now (and I am still 3 stone over the maximum ideal weight for my height)

Some little things that I have found help are taking butter out of sandwiches if you don't 100% need it and having 2 fruit bowls one that is in sight when watching tv means sometimes a piece of fruit is easier to get than say crisps which are all too high to reach and need steps which means I have to go to a lot of effort to get them and stops me doing it without thinking (because I am lazy!)
