Hi there.
Grateful for any advice/experience re: the following.
Ds, just turned two, is a tall, strong, strapping lad. He's eaten brilliantly since weaning (bar the odd fussy week), and will try anything. He's veggie, and isn't a big fan of dairy (which I'm happy about), but still eats a widely varied diet with a lot of fruit, wholegrains and generally interesting stuff.
So why is he waking to throw up the entire day's meals around midnight?! This happened earlier in the year too, when ds was violently sick four nights spread across a fortnight. He's now done the same again three times in a week. He seems well otherwise, if a bit tired and not as enthusiastic as usual about food. But it doesn't seem like a bug (not all day and not every day - plus he seems well enough and neither I nor dp has it), and it isn't behavioural - he isn't protesting about being in bed or making himself sick, and seems genuinely uncomfortable prior to being sick.
So I'm thinking maybe allergies, which is a disappointment given how careful I was with weaning - no wheat/dairy/citrus until first birthday, lots of homemade food and wholegrains, etc. Ds does eat quite a bit of soya (mostly as tofu), which he loves, but I do wonder if it could be disagreeing with him. Or maybe it's the odd bit of dairy he eats. But a bit of rough diet tracking isn't showing a pattern - he ate some of a friend's cheesecake the other day, and some tofu, and was fine that night.
I'm stumped - and worried about ds not getting the goodness he needs with all this vomitting. Anyone experienced similar with their little one(s), and did you get to the bottom of it?
Thanks for any ideas.
