spoke to tenaladt yesterday about my spots on my lips, seems i have taken the skin off them by tearing packing tape with my teeth..kept puttin vasaline on yesterday then last night put sore/dry lip cream on them.
woke up this morning with oozing yellow blisters, tried to carefully wipe them and ive burst them all..am in agony, chemist doesnt open till 9.30..they look like open wounds now so dont know what to put on to ease pain..have tried kitchen roll soaked in water but any pressure just hurts more..help!

ouch!

sounds like you've reacted to the vaseline/lip cream, so avoid those and put cold things on them - ice cubes maybe?

well last night the spots looked more like colesaws??so although i knew when it happend was unsure wether something like this could bring them out which is why i put cream on its a very mild one you can use on children from boots so thought it wouls be ok??
it feels like ive been burnt and i look like ive got two bust lips

oh ok - could be cold sores. normal lip cream doesn't help with those though

so could i get them from tearing the tape?
i do get them but never in middle of lips and had no tingling.
they only came out when id tore tape off all night?

youve ripped the skin off?

it will heal quickly, the mouth is the quickest healing part of hte body

but i dont really think there is much you could put on it

cold flannels to ease the pain maybe

definitely coldsores, lots of things can trigger them, sun, cold, stress, dehydration and scratching your lip like you have. Leave them alone until you can get some Zovirax- will cost about £6 per tiny tube but works a treat. Don't kiss anyone until they've completely gone or you'll pass the virus on. Now you've had them once you've got them forever so keep Zovirax and Blistex around and at the first tingle slather them with cream. Horrible aren't they - always make me feel dirty

hmmmmm

i wouldnt do anything until you have had some advice from a pharmacist/dr/nurse

putting cold sore treatment on lips that are damaged would be a bad idea

Oh poor you - that sounds so painful.

Maybe an allergic reaction to the tape? I once had spots come up in my mouth as a child from licking stickers at school.

Hope the chemist can help.

in the meantime put a cold compress on it

Sorry - I'd put the zovirax on anyway although seeing a pharmacist isn't a bad idea. I've had coldsores which are almost but not quite healed when I've caught the scab. Cue open cut, lots of hopping about and swearing- same for you I imagine. The zovirax really does help. It'll sting like mad at first. You'll find they'll scab over quite quickly. Keep out of the sun though.

oh blimey - no advice other than I, as a longtime sufferer of coldsores wouldn't put anything on open sores.

Cold flannels like someone else mentioned and my heartfelt sympathy - must be agony.

got appointment and he said it was allergic reaction & a large bunch of cold saws brought on by stress, together they have produced angelina jolie gross puss filled lips! and he's given me highest dose of some antibiotic to take four times a day and...told me to buy zovirax to put on..even though the sores are 'open'...owwwwwwwwwww..havent done it yet, but it cant hurt anymore than they do..i feel like ive had a ton of botox injexted in my gob then punched and burned..no kidding, if i hadnt packed my camera id have took a picture and put it on..urrrghhhh.
